Sid Schwab spent nearly an entire column trying to find nothing to complain about in the Democratic Presidential field. (“Debates inform an easy choice between parties.”) He dismisses criminal accusations against Clinton and can find nothing derogatory to say about Sanders’ total lack of lifetime achievement. Choosing between these two is almost more than Sid can bear, however, he finds just enough room for a paragraph to tell us how easy it is to choose between the primary parties. How unexpected.
It’s not clear how, but in someway Sid thinks God is sending some kind of message with Antonin Scalia’s death. Then, he messes up totally by mixing that with his disdain for “patriotic Republicans promise to trash the Constitution and prevent, sight unseen, any Obama-nominated Justice from being approved.”
The Republican response to the liberal call for immediate appointment of a successor to tilt the court was hardly unexpected nor unprecedented. Watch this Democratic response to an identical situation in 2007 and Sid can explain to us how the circumstances differ: tinyurl.com/SavingTheRepublicSchumer07. The chickens come home to roost; watch for them, Sid.
