Democrats need to look in mirror

When is Obama going to stop whining about inheriting a huge deficit from Bush? Budgets don’t come from the White House, they come from Congress. The party that has controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party, and they control the budget process.

In 2007, it was Harry Reid and Barney Frank who pushed through the legislation forcing banks to lend to high risk borrowers, which has destroyed our housing market. Nancy Pelosi and Reid passed the massive omnibus bill. Where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of the Congress that passed these massive spending bills and he signed the omnibus bill as president. If the Democrats and Obama inherited any deficit, it was the one they voted in, plus Obama has voted to expand the deficit four-fold since Jan. 20.

Let’s look at Washington state, with Sen. Patty Murray. She is part of the Democratic Congress that voted for all of the spending. She voted yes on the stimulus package, yes on TARP, yes on the health-care bill. If you like the direction our country is headed in with Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Murray, then I guess you should continue to vote for them. Don’t forget, they have said “we’re just getting started.”

I will be voting for Dino Rossi. I like his motto, “Preserve the dream. Control the spending.” By keeping the current Democratic control, the dream is quickly becoming a nightmare!
