In Jerry Cornfield’s Feb. 6 column, “Gay bias bill may finally see light,” he touts the special rights for homosexuals bill as fait accompli, given the Legislature’s new Democratic majority and control of the governor’s mansion. He compares the discrimination of blacks and other minorities with the majority of Americans’ abhorrence and rejection of a perverted lifestyle.
In his article, he dismisses the fact that this bill is not a step toward gay marriage with its simple denial by gay activists. Do they really think we are that nave? All over America the gay revolution is making inroads and increasing its influence and taking control. Marriage is under attack by the gays as never before and without a constitutional amendment, they are likely to destroy the most powerful institution in Judeo-Christian America.
Cornfield says nearly all the Democrats can be counted on to support the bill and that the “Republicans will be forced to do a bit of soul searching.” Excuse me? Why should the group trying to protect our communities’ moral base be the one to do the soul searching? The Democrats should be asking themselves what they’re doing.
This bill and the arrogance that accompanies it is further proof that the Democratic Party is the party of the gays. It must be rejected, along with the Democrats who support it.
