It is apparent, after the vote in the Senate regarding same-sex marriage, that Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell have taken a firm position and will not support the Federal Marriage Amendment. They prefer to go along with the Democratic leaders in the Senate, including Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, Sens. Charles Schumer, Barbara Boxer and Debbie Stabenow, who reportedly promised homosexual leaders, they would kill the amendment.
By their actions, they would allow one liberal, activist federal judge to overturn all marriage laws and make homosexual marriage legal in all 50 states. Their arrogance in deciding this defining issue without a vote of the people must be challenged! The old saying “power to the people” has been usurped, not only by the courts, but by the very people elected to serve us in Congress. Now is the time to stand up and let your elected officials in the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as your local representatives, know that the traditional marriage of one man and one woman must not be compromised.
