Last year the Snohomish County PUD had to eat $3.5 million in non-payments. $3.5 million. In a May 6 letter to the editor, Cori Smith seems to think that the PUD got a handful of money from Enron. Not true. They just didn’t have to pay Enron a handful of money, thanks in part to Sen. Maria Cantwell.
We are retired and living on a fixed income. We know when our PUD bill is due and make provisions for it.
We have dealt with the Snohomish County PUD for 12 years and it has been good to us.
One more thing: If we had to pay Enron what it wanted, our light bill would be a lot higher.
