Disrepected Tea Party members

I must respond to the May 24 editorial (“U.S. debt ceiling: Wrong fight to have now”) that the stenographers for the Democratic Party — oops, I mean The Herald Editorial Board — wrote.

When I read the opinion that John Boehner has the unenviable job of “herding a vitriolic, Tea Party fueled caucus,” it occurred to me that if The Herald is so flush with cash that it feels comfortable disrespecting readers that are part of, or support, the Tea Party, maybe the paper isn’t taxed enough. I think its taxes should be jacked up 20 percent. (I just pulled that number out of, um, my hat, yeah, that’s it.) It can be called the John Burbank Pay Your Fair Share Tax. That should give him a Chris Matthewsesque thrill up his leg.

Or, maybe the Tea Party should use a leftist tactic. It works like this: If someone speaks words that give the left a mental owie, they call out their vitriolic, mindless minions to call advertisers and demand that they stop supporting the free speech of the offending heretic.

The time is now for the left to be “herded” into submission.
