Divorce plays role in hurting families

Thank you for publishing Julie Muhlstein’s well-written column on Nov. 28 about leaving children out of tragedies (“Tragic stories about children raise many questions”). The deranged father’s murder of his two daughters stunned our Edmonds Seaview neighborhood.

Divorce and insanity appear to be the key reasons for the evil violence. Divorce is a blight across the nation, which has destroyed a plethora of families – rich and poor. Divorce should be more regulated, limited and expensive for couples with kids. Children need two parents to help protect and provide for them. Perhaps citizens will sue and collect damages from divorce lawyers, the Republican and Democratic parties, and the media for profiting from, aiding and abetting, and encouraging the break-up of American families.
