I looked at the August 13 paper and there again you have printed Tim Eyman’s picture. It seems bad enough that we have to keep hearing about him and his hokey ideas.
I wonder, if he had his way, how much his supporters would be praising him then? With social services cut, more people would be out on the road looking for work. With no buses, we would have tens of thousands of more cars on the road. With all of that money that he wants going to fix the roads, there would be construction zones everywhere anyone went.
It is not like the old days when government could condemn property to make a new road or highway. We pretty much have our boundaries set by water; so unless we build up, there is not a lot of space for new construction.
At this point, I personally do not have a business in my home where I can stay sheltered from the daily grind. So, I get out there every day and go to work. My work is driving a Para Transit bus for the City of Everett, for seniors and disabled people. I like to drive. It is why I do what I do, as well as to help the people that I can to get around and do what they have to do.
If Mr. Eyman has his way, my job most likely will go away – and all the folks that ride my bus or use other services will have to rely on family and friends to get around. That means more trips on the road, plus time off from their jobs to help their loved ones.
People are at their wit’s end with the projects that are going on already. Does anyone really want to live in Tim Eyman’s world and sit with all the extra cars in construction zones on our roads and highways? I personally do not. I hope that I don’t have to.
Please stop publishing his picture. If there is anyone out there who doesn’t know what he looks like by now, maybe they can call or write you and you can send them an autographed copy.
