On Wednesday night our governor went on the news and declared that she was upset discouraged and saddened with Boeing’s latest decision to not build their second line in Everett. She said (and I quote) “it is my job to fight for every job in this state.”
What I would like to know is: where was she when Brunswick closed the Meridian Yachts manufacturing plant in Arlington? Why didn’t she fight for our jobs by offering our company tax credits and such as she did for Boeing? What about the 2,000-plus jobs she and Greg Nichols chased out of town by boycotting Airbus when they showed interest in coming here?
I remember a statement made by them at that time “we are a Boeing community and we intend to stay that way.” Good job, you two! How much damage does an administration need to do before Seattle realizes that you can’t just vote for someone on their party standing alone? This is the only state I’ve seen where the government does as it pleases regardless of what the people vote in or out.
If you think Christine Gregoire cares about you or your job, think again, she cares only for No. 1 and most of you are fools for thinking otherwise.
