It doesn’t surprise me that most of the recent letters to the editor are slanted to the Republicans, but I am surprised that anybody still believes that Social Security has a deficit.
AARP says over and over that the Social Security fund now has a $2.4 trillion surplus in treasuries. If treasuries are worthless like they say, we’re in a lot of trouble.
China and our other bankers have most all the money we owe, in treasuries. The government has been borrowing from Social Security and I sure don’t agree with that. Social Security is the most successful government program ever, the Republicans have never liked it. I won’t vote for any politician who wants to privatize or hurt Social Security in any way.
