Quite frankly, I’m disgusted by the so many people who still believe that Iraq was a genuine threat to the U.S. – and that we had every right to invade and topple a powerless dictator that we – excuse me – that Reagan and the Republican Party had helped install and place into power shortly after the Iran-Iraq war.
I don’t know what the people are thinking when they believe that someone with zero military might and zero WMD capacity, could possibly be a threat to anyone – let alone a super power like the U.S.
But, I guess the stupidheads reign these days; allowing common sense to take another extended vacation.
Now we have Iran. Same scenario as Iraq’s, but this time, they’ve managed to complete the low-level uranium enrichment process. A process that yields nuclear power for civilian use, but is highly insufficient for making nuclear bombs.
And yet Bush and company are saying that Iran poses a grave threat to the U.S. and our national security – playing on the same fears that brought us the quagmire that is still Iraq.
Given Bush’s intent to use tactical nukes on another nation, this latest round of saber-rattling by U.S. officials doesn’t impress me one bit. Instead, it worries me.
Iran doesn’t have the capacity to launch any kind of missile at us (seeing how their missiles have a max range of 1,200 miles, and we are 7,264 miles from them), and yet, it’s considered a threat to the U.S. mainland directly?
George Bush thinks so. And the question I would like to ask is: How so?
