Don’t expect others to do job for you

I am glad I didn’t read the letters to the editor the other morning before I got out of bed because I may have just decided to stay there. “U.S. on fast downward spiral” (Dec. 13) just puts a real gloomy picture on what is going on out there and somehow it is the fault of liberals and school teachers. I find this logic hard to follow

Are we to tell our children that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and that is why we invaded? Are we to tell them that everything is going just fine and there is nothing to worry about? Is God out of Christmas? It is if the family that shares Christmas with each other doesn’t put it there.

Many of us now let others instruct our children and depend on others to give them the values that we received or should have received from our own families. Don’t blame others, blame yourself if your children don’t have the proper values. Tell the truth, be honest and hopefully these children of ours will grow out of these fads and become just like us, or better. Also one of the largest contributors to conservative values is Wal-Mart and I don’t see them working real hard to put Christ back into Christmas.
