Responding to Julie D. Brown’s letter of Nov. 14, “Interurban Trail: One person ruined it for all.” I sympathize with Julie D. Brown’s lament of the Interurban Trail defoliation. It’s unfortunate for all that this action was considered necessary. Of course, the greatest misfortune was to the poor young victim of the attack.
However, Ms Brown is apparently unaware of the leash laws in Snohomish County which prohibit her dogs from “running free” along the Interurban Trail or any other trail or road within Snohomish County. As a cyclist and trail user, I would not want to encounter three dogs running free, so please leash up, Ms. Brown. The leash laws are clear regarding loose dogs and owner responsibilities.
