Please, for the sake of our children, do not minimize child abuse with a headline of “Man arrested in spanking of kids” to announce a story where the child reports being hit “a lot of times” with a stick.
The story came to light when a day care center reported severe bruising on the 5-year-old boy.
Being hit with a stick is not a spanking – it’s a beating.
