How sad to read the March 4 article, “Police get incentives for tickets.” Tonka Toys for full-grown men seems to be in bad taste in this day and age. Hats off to all the agencies that found a reason not to participate.
Whatever happened to things like murder, rape, robbery and meth? We need more officers spending time on the real issues.
Where’s the incentive program to reward those who actually do the whole job? Sad to imagine a fraction of our law enforcement community driving around oblivious to everything but seatbelt offenders over a Tonka Toy.
Where’s Tim Eyman when we really need him? I agree the seatbelt law needs to be changed back to the way it was.
