Why is letter writer John Slusher picking on Texas Gov. George W. Bush because Bush did not resign as Texas governor during the campaign (“George W. Bush: Drew pay during campaign,” Nov. 26)? In recent years two Democratic governors ran for president but did not resign during the campaign: Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis in 1988 and Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton in 1992. If Mr. Slusher thinks governors should resign when they win a party nomination, then he should say so. But do not single out just Gov. Bush for criticism.
