The Oct. 17 Nightly Business Report on PBS Channel 9 was very eye opening. Did you know that China is our biggest investor at several trillion dollars? They do not look lightly and are pretty upset that our Congress keeps doing the game of not getting the budget managed. If the United States defaults on its loans, the Chinese government loses money. They, of course, would not be happy with us.
My own words: “China could probably take over our government because of the default, or the many games that Congress is playing regarding our budget.”
Do we want China in control of the United States? They are tired of the games of Congress not coming to an agreement on the budget and shutting down the government with a possible default looming every few months because of partisan differences.
What the heck? Congress plays games, blaming whomever, at the risk of us being taken over by the Chinese government. Is this what we want? I hope not.
We’re going to deal with this again in January. Is our Congress going to get it and do the right thing? I think not. That’s very sad. We are pawns at the hands of Congress. That’s not how our government is supposed to run. Aren’t they supposed to be doing what’s right “for the people” of this country?
Please think about this. Contact your representative. Do the right thing when we get to vote again on senators and representatives of the Congress. Who will do right by us and not by the party?
