Regarding the Saturday article, “Highway 9 straightening finished”:
What a joke! If the Department of Transportation really wanted to be effective in making Highway 9 much safer, it should have started with a couple of higher priority projects: 1) Widening the dangerous one-way bridge across Cavanaugh Creek and 2) straightening the dangerous “S” curve across the railroad tracks just north of Bryant. Just more of the same DOT logic. This project will not “provide drivers with a safe, smooth ride on Highway 9.”
Here’s another higher priority: Construction of the long overdue bypass route outside Granite Falls, to get that gravel truck traffic out of the middle of town!
