Our Snohomish County Superior Court judges are known throughout the state as quality jurists. This reputation has been earned through their integrity, their dedication to their duties, their expertise, knowledge of legal issues, and the high professional standards they have set for themselves.
Whether it be heinous crimes – such as those committed years ago by Charles Campbell, the defendants in the recent Rachael Burkheimer case or those long civil cases which come before our Superior Court – our jurists are outstanding in their profession and are a very necessary asset to our community.
Our newest judge, Michael Downes, exemplifies all of these qualities.
Prior to becoming a jurist, Judge Downes gave the citizens of Snohomish County quality service with a long-distinguished career as a senior deputy prosecuting attorney. Mr. Downes was the lead prosecutor in the Rachael Burkheimer murder cases. Throughout this long legal ordeal, the hard work and many hours put into this case by Mr. Downes and his assistants made certain that those responsible for this crime were punished to the full extent of the law.
I believe if all of our citizens study the qualifications of those seeking election to the position of Superior Court judge, they will reach the same conclusion I have and vote for Judge Michael Downes to continue his service to the citizens of Snohomish County.
