The Bush Administration is telling the public that drilling for oil in Arctic national refuge will help the U.S. become more energy efficient. I really doubt it will. Drilling in the Arctic refuge would pollute and industrialize one of the last wild places left in the United States, all for only six months worth of oil that we won’t see until 10 years from now. As long as we continue pouring money into the coffers of Big Oil, the terrorist in the Middle East will have plenty of money.
I suggest that we switch to using biomass fuels made from plants such as hemp. This would give us a renewable form of fuel.
