Sarri Gilman’s Aug. 23 column in The Herald really disturbed me. Nowhere do I see any remorse for breaking the law against turning right on a red light without stopping. I believe the law states that before turning right on a red light, the driver must stop, check for oncoming cars or pedestrians in the crosswalk, and only proceed if it is safe to do so.
Drivers like her cause accidents and put other people at risk. It’s drivers like her that prompt cities to try to force people to drive safely by installing cameras to catch them when they disobey the law. She should quietly pay her fine and change her driving habits.
