Regarding the Wednesday article, “Five injured in 3-car pileup near Mill Creek”:
I live approximately 2 miles from where the crash took place. I can say with some degree of certainty that a light does not need to be installed there. What needs to go on there is a learning curve for bad driving. On a regular basis people leaving the Chevron gas station will use the center turn lane as an acceleration lane to blend into the flow of traffic. Think of the head-on problem this creates when someone expects to turn into the Chevron station. I’ve seen this time and time again, even from cops. People don’t understand exactly what the lane is for, evidently. A traffic light creates more problems with the traffic flow through the intersection at 35th. Besides, I didn’t think two schools needed to be put there. By and large people drive through like they are in competition for a Darwin award, anyway.
