I would really appreciate it if the Everett Police and local school officials penalized students for driving obnoxiously loud cars with modified mufflers.
Sometimes you can hear them a good ten blocks away and they know they are making noise. In fact, they have spent hundreds of dollars for that exact purpose. I used to be young and liked to race and cruise around. I get that. But modifying a muffler to make it more noisy is illegal and should not be allowed on school property.
I am asking Everett Police to monitor the parking lot at Everett High School when school lets out. I promise you that it is louder than anything at Evergreen Speedway. The city should expand jurisdiction and infraction accountability to enable officers to be able to write tickets on the spot for modified mufflers. We shouldn’t have to hear and feel the roar every single day of the week. Schools shouldn’t ignore this problem.
If students have money for cars and modified mufflers then they probably don’t need my tax dollars.
