The recent decision by the Puget Sound Pollution Control Agency to ban all outdoor burning shows just how ignorant these unelected people are. Their own charts show that auto pollution is the biggest problem, yet they expect me to haul hundreds of loads of burnable waste to dumps, to be hauled again.
I live on acreage where I continually have leaves, branches and brush to clear and burn. It is a part of rural life, which obviously they know nothing about. I assume they live in condos or houses with postage stamp size lots that do not have debris.
In the real world, my treed and open property creates more clean air and less pollution than their paved-over land and treeless expanse of pavement.
Perhaps they should get their heads out of the hole they have it stuck in and see what life is like for people who don’t live in the polluted cities where the water has nowhere to go and there are no trees to help clean the air, because they took them all out for their own greedy gratification. I guess their wonderful college education forgot to show them that open land, trees and dirt do more for the environment and wildlife than their solid pavement and towering concrete condos.
