Dunshee knows district, has clout in Legislature

In a political race it’s sometimes difficult to know who to vote for. In the 44th District it’s a no- brainer in the race for state representative. Hans Dunshee is a 20-year resident of Snohomish and knows the district thoroughly. Mike Hope has lived in the district barely 20 months, and needs to learn a lot about it.

Dunshee, a graduate of the University of Washington, has been in the Legislature for 10 years, and has gained tremendous influence and clout during those years. Hope would be a newcomer, just learning his way around the place. Dunshee knows the district’s needs, and with his clout he can get it. Hope is just learning what the district needs, and he would be learning how to implement it in the Legislature. He would be on two learning curves simultaneously. That’s not a good way to start, and it wouldn’t be good for the district.

Dunshee has been a very effective legislator, working well with both Republicans and Democrats. Hope is off to the far right, and would be unable to work with liberal or even moderate legislators. His sole claim to fame is great financial backing by developers. The 44th District needs Dunshee, with his experience, knowledge, leadership and effectiveness. The Legislature also needs the wonderful sense of humor that Dunshee displays daily. He’s not only a good legislator, he’s fun and refreshing.
