Sound Transit is bringing commuter rail service from Everett to Seattle later this year, thank goodness. For years this region has been complaining about traffic rather than getting down to work to provide solutions.
Sound Transit and its board members, like Edmonds City Council member Dave Earling, deserve credit for sticking to the plan. That plan means taxes raised in Snohomish County go to buses and now commuter rail that help reduce traffic jams. And it means that the light rail project in Seattle isn’t our problem because our taxes don’t pay for it.
We should thank Earling and other Sound Transit board members from Snohomish County for making sure commuter rail service came to Everett and that we got our money’s worth from Sound Transit.
