In reference to Rich Needham’s Sept. 13 letter to the editor regarding vulgarity in The Herald, I would like to note that the political cartoon right above Mr. Needham’s letter was equally if not more offensive, vulgar and distasteful than the “B.S.” initials referenced by him.
Civility begins at home and is promoted by our leaders and in our media which includes not only TV, radio but also the press. The Herald should be ashamed of printing such a vulgar and distasteful cartoon. Your paper continues to find new ways to insult and offend us. And, please don’t tell me that the cartoon is from an independent artist, as I assume that you must have an editor that either approves or disapproves of such items.
Please grow a spine and go back to showing some civility.
