Lets see now, more than $67 million in fines levied against the Legislature by the Supreme Court for failing to provide a plan to meet the constitutional requirement for basic education. Did any of these people go to school or graduate? I have an eight-step plan that really works:
1. All students say the Pledge Of Allegiance in their first morning class.
2. All students get a 15-minute free time at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. with a half-hour lunch at noon.
3. All students eat, regardless of sack lunch or how they can pay.
4. Students who cannot afford the basic supplies get them free.
5. Students have one open discussion class to discuss world affairs.
6. Home work is limited to one hour each night, including Saturday and Sunday.
7. Teach respect for parents, teacher and fellow students.
8. Everyone participates in some kind of exercise.
Now for the $67 million. Give me $2.5 million for this great plan of basic education and apply the rest to Washington state teacher salaries, a much needed raise for what they do for our children.
