I would like to respond to the letter in the Sunday Herald headlined “Plenty of shame to go around.” The letter writer seems to think there is shame in upholding the wishes of the majority of the voting public in this state. These named judges and senate officials are voting according to the statutes and laws that are already on the books in this state (and in most other states).
Morals are not the issue (maybe they should be) but morals are the basis of most laws historically. I applaud Sen. Val Stevens and Judge Madsen for holding the line and hope to see Washington State remain a family friendly law-abiding state.
