Wait a minute! You think your vote counted? Well, it didn’t, except as an advisory vote.
It’s the electors who will decide who is our next president. Theoretically, Biden has 306 electors, Trump has 232. All Trump needs to do is convince about 30 electors from blue states to vote for him instead of Biden.
The Constitution leaves the right to choose electors in each state. In the last election, Washington State had four designated electors who were “faithless.”
They didn’t vote as the majority of our people voted. The penalty was a slap on the wrist.
The Electoral College idea means we don’t have a democracy where each person’s vote counts.
Those in power tend to stay in power. Pretty scary! (Think Maduro in Venezuela.)
