I most appreciated Pamela Peel’s comments on Tim Eyman’s initiatives, “When will voters say enough to Eyman?” Letters, Nov. 25. I too have wondered when people will conclude enough is enough.
I doubt that there has ever been a greater threat to our state’s representative form of government then Emperor Eyman. His formula for success is simple. Recognizing that the average voter is basically lazy and consequently ignorant of the details surrounding an issue, he plays to the obvious; their pocketbook. What is sad is that many of the very people he influences are those most dependent on the services that will be scaled back or suspended as a result of his initiatives.
If Tim Eyman were truly a man of the people, as he would have some believe, he would run for public office and place himself in the risky position of accountability. I doubt, however, that this will ever happen. I think Tim Eyman is basically a political coward and will continue to hide behind the initiative process to fan the flames of his ego.
Long live the emperor!
