After reading the Tuesday letter, “Why not open plant in Mexico?”, all I could say is, “Gee, thanks” … offering up American jobs as a common sense solution to illegal immigration.
Perhaps the better solution would be to enforce the law and hold employers who use illegal labor accountable.
Then, we should cut off social services and privileges to those who are in the country illegally. It’s being proven in states like Georgia that they will “self deport.” After all, once those good paying jobs are south of the border, those of us who held them previously will be among the wannabes who would like a better way of life. Then what?
It’s ridiculous to expect this country to continue accommodating illegal immigrants or other countries’ governments this way.
