If the Everett Public Library gets its requested $34,660 grant it should be used to teach our new immigrants English – not to further their lack of interest in learning to communicate in the country of their choosing.
Our grandparents and parents learned to speak English so they could communicate effectively. Why can’t these people? If you want to live here learn the language. English should be the primary language – not the secondary one. It is very expensive to have books in a lot of different languages, and to have interpreters available at hospitals for non-English speaking people. Learn English!
