I own an Everett Giants ball cap and an Olive Garden seat cushion I won at the plate-breaking contest during an Everett AquaSox game. Therefore I feel fully qualified to comment on the future of baseball in Everett (“Keep AquaSox in Everett with downtown ballpark,” The Herald, Nov. 10).
My advice: Get out from under the thumb of Major League Baseball. We all know the owners are a gang of extortionists. Give them what they want now and they’ll be back for more later.
Instead, join the Bellingham Bells in the independent West Coast League. It offers talented young players wielding bats made of real wood; exactly what we’ve enjoyed for years at Funko Field. And we can watch in financial freedom with our civic pride intact.
