I am writing to inform your readers of the outstanding work being accomplished by one of your local heroes, Capt. Jason Work, a 1993 graduate of Everett High School.
As the commander of the 509th Weapons Squadron, every day I am impressed by Jason’s dedication, sacrifice and commitment. He is a great American, doing important work as an instructor pilot and weapons officer at the KC-135 Weapons Instructor Course here at Fairchild AFB, where he trains and develops leaders with expertise in the operational employment of airpower for the tanker community.
The KC-135 community is a tremendous team that provides worldwide air refueling and mobility support to the United States and, most importantly, to the coalition of combat airpower assisting ground forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. The United States Air Force exports the best America has to offer: democracy, freedom, liberty and the hard work, sacrifices and exemplary efforts of airmen such as Jason. He is critical to the work we accomplish here and around the globe.
You can be proud that Everett’s finest are well represented here at Fairchild Air Force Base and in Southwest Asia, where he will be deployed shortly. I ask you to keep Jason and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Lt. Col. Seth Beaubien
