I’ve had the privilege of knowing Judy Tuohy since we were classmates at South Junior High School. She and I grew up together right here in Everett and I have no doubt that she is the right leader at this pivotal time for our city.
Judy brings perspective from a broad range of experiences, including her time as an educator, working in commercial business, non-profit leadership, and as city council president. She is a collaborative leader who listens carefully to find common ground upon which to build strong solutions that move Everett forward. As council president, she led the efforts to strengthen the communication with and connection to our neighborhoods.
She holds public safety, a growing concern in our community, as her highest priority. She has also pledged to open a community day center to serve the homeless on our streets. While sufficient permanent housing in the long-term solution, it is unacceptable for our homeless population not to have daytime access to showers and toilets. Judy will be an incredible mayor — one who is humble, kind, compassionate, and ready to tackle our challenges on day one.
I will be proud to cast my vote for Judy and I urge you to join me.
