I have been reading about and watching our election fiasco where every county has its own way of counting votes. Most of them seem to set their own rules for counting votes. It seems that the term “standardization” is not in the state vocabulary.
If every county would operate by the same rules and guidelines in processing votes, it would eliminate most, if not all, the problems. The state should establish appropriate standard rules and guidelines for all voting situations so that everyone clearly understands what is expected of them and what they can expect in processing votes. I realize that this may seem like over-simplifying what is a fairly complex procedure, but that may be what is needed. The less complex, standardized and simple a procedure can be made, the greater the accuracy of it.
