I would like to extend my thanks to the people of Monroe for their support of our Sky Valley Food Bank. I volunteer my accounting skills weekly at the food bank and have been so impressed this holiday season by the outpouring of support that has come from our community! I’ve seen kids emptying their piggy banks of pennies, school principals donating cash that was earmarked for staff presents and local businesses matching employee contributions.
Every donation makes a difference in the lives of families in our own neighborhoods. Thanks to your generosity, tummies are less hungry and many local children received several Christmas presents and stockings where none was expected.
It takes monumental effort to keep the food bank doors open and many thanks go to all the loyal volunteers and especially the director, Julie Morris, who is the glue that binds the whole process together. I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve this fine charity and community. Thank you for opening your hearts, changing lives and bettering the lives of those in need!
