Everyone can play part to make it work

I am a NASCAR fan. I will buy tickets for any events at the new track when and if it gets built.

I know there is a lot of work to be done to get a track built here. My wish and hope is this: That those who have issues with a track being built here will be involved in the planning process in a positive way. That they will not stand around and protest the track, fight it in court or be spoiled about it. I hope that they get involved and work with the planners, the pro-track people and get something great built here that will benefit not only the race fans, NASCAR and ISC, but the community at large.

This is a great opportunity that has been given to this area. Let’s all get involved and build something that will be a great benefit to all of us. I understand the questions about traffic, noise and cost. But would those against a track rather have mega strip malls and a couple of thousand more homes with traffic 24/7? Or a couple of times a year of heavy traffic and the increased roads to handle the traffic?

As for the cost, let’s set up municipal bonds that are paid off from the increased taxes on items and services used at the track. This place can pay for itself, if it is set up correctly. But we must all work together to achieve this goal. I only can hope that the anti-track people will realize that the only and best way to deal with the track is to work with the supporters and agree on the best way to go. Even when you don’t get your way fully, you can still get part of your way if you work with all parties and come to terms equally for the best of the community.
