The Herald, in February and May, had articles about personal finances, how to understand and manage money. I would say that the subject is not well understood throughout the population. Schools do not teach it and there are those who, to their advantage, don’t want you to be dollar-wise.
To get down to basics and get a real handle on credit and domestic finances, try to locate “A Primer on Money,” published in 1964 by U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C. It’s out of print, but should be brought back and reprinted.
