Expansion of hours is necessary

The Mill Creek Library serves more than 70,000 patrons in a crowded library with limited parking and no meeting room facility. The City of Mill Creek voted to annex to Sno-Isle Library system beginning next January. The City Council is planning to expand the city limits. In the surrounding unincorporated areas, forests are being denuded to make way for more homes, condominiums and rentals.

Extending the library hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and adding Sunday would better accommodate this burgeoning population of library patrons. Please show your interest in expanding library hours to increase use of the building and ease the parking problem by speaking to Mill Creek Library staff or by writing to the Sno-Isle Library Board of Trustees, 7312 35th Ave. NE, Marysville, WA 98271-7417.

The next Mill Creek Library Board of Trustees meeting is at 7 p.m. June 6 in the Mill Creek City Council Chambers.
