Regarding the Tuesday article, “Building code penalty is extreme, Koster says”:
I want to say I am happy that County Councilman John Koster is looking into the matter of the extreme judgment pending against Fern and Clifford Bartholomew.
The couple raised their children in the house for years and there were no threats to the community, if that’s what the county was concerned about. The house was torn down and the couple have been living in a cramped trailer for years.
The county should have to rebuild the home and furnish it for the agony the couple have been through and the unfairness of the “extreme taxing” along with removing this ridiculous fee.
