Family grateful for her amazing care at birth

I’m writing in regard to the article published on May 6 titled: “Paramedic’s skill saves baby in tough delivery”:

As the grandmother of baby Madison Kay Miller featured in this article, I would like to add words of thanks to the great nurses and doctors at Stevens Hospital. Without them all, we would not have our beautiful little granddaughter.

Medic Art Delisle did a wonderful job, which also included calling to alert the birth center staff to be ready for emergency surgery, because that was the only option to get the baby out in time.

In the very few minutes it took the medics to arrive at the hospital with Shana, the team was ready and waiting. The anesthesiologist was in place, and a doctor from the infant high-risk team had rushed from her office to care for the baby. Dr. Robert Mitchell was ready to perform the emergency caesarian section, with Shana’s obstetrician, Dr. Kim Dickey assisting.

I want to sincerely thank Stevens Hospital staff and doctors for the fantastic job they did. Madison and her parents were cared for by many skilled professionals in the four weeks before the baby’s discharge.

Medic 7 and Stevens Hospital offer tremendous service to the South Snohomish County community.
