On Dec. 5, a fundraiser was held at Mardini’s Restaurant in Snohomish. The fundraiser was for installation of a climbing wall at the Snohomish Boys &Girls club as a memorial for our son, Corporal Jeff Starr. Jeff was killed in action in Ramadi, Iraq, May 30, 2005.
We want to thank this community of Snohomish for the support of our fundraiser. We are overwhelmed at the response, especially since we had to postpone the event a week due to the snowstorm a week earlier. Zouhair Mardini outdid himself with his generosity in holding the event at his restaurant, Mardini’s. The band that played touched our hearts.
Most of all, all the donors who contributed, your support for this project made it a success and this spring we will have an indoor climbing wall at the Snohomish Boys &Girls Club.
