Doesn’t 2 times 2 equal 4? Not in the state of Gregoire (Washington).
I received my renewal statement for license fees for my 2-year-old auto, $43.75! When I bought my new car in 2004, the tab was $30 (as voted in by voters in 1999). In 2005 the tab went to $33.75. That is a 30-plus percent increase with no explanation.
I only wish Tim Eyman would run for governor. But he’s too smart for that job!
Initiative I-917 will put our license plate fees at $30 on all vehicles weighing 22,000 pounds or less.
I have been hustling signatures from registered voters and have found great acceptance to sign the five or six petitions I have sent to the I-917 committee.
It’s very difficult for the voters of this state to understand how Olympia can go against what we voted for on their own. I know I-917 will make the polls in November. Just imagine what would happen to the license fees if it didn’t reach the polls. Hah! Olympia would have another hey-day.
