I remember when President Eisenhower left office he said, “Beware of the military/industrial (political) complex.” He was right. Look at how our spending has been focused on the military since then, without real threat or cause, but rather through manufactured threats/causes. We need to bring these resources home to work for us the people — keep our schools alive and well, our infrastructure strong and green, our research toward clean energy and environmental care.
