Congratulations to our governor – for the first time in 60 years I will not be voting in the primary this year. Since age 18 I have always voted. I have always felt that our nation was the best and I voted to keep it that way. I fought in World War II to help protect our freedoms.
Now we are required by law to put a tag on each one of us as a Republican or Democrat. I will always be an independent, like the millions of people who want to keep our nation’s freedoms. If we are required to label ourselves with a party name, we will be exactly like our current politicians – throwing stones at each other because we belong to different parties instead of resolving the problems of government.
Have we lost our way? Aren’t we still the rugged nation that has survived all of the onslaughts against us? When are we going to govern instead of constantly fighting because of party affiliations?
I challenge all of you to stand up and fight for our nation’s rights. If the politicians don’t listen – shout louder. Our voices must be heard.
