Regarding The Herald’s July 26 editorial, “Legislature’s collapse: Three strikes – they’re out!” Our elected officials have done it again. The Legislature sat and argued for 163 days, costing taxpayers $28,000 per day, and came up with no solution to our unending traffic woes. For this privilege, the taxpayers have paid $4,564,000 plus other expenses many of us know nothing about.
I suggest that the taxpayers fire the entire Legislature and put the $4 million towards road improvements. Washington state is becoming the joke of the United States, and we are in danger of losing many of our large corporations.
Many years ago, there were large billboards throughout Seattle saying: “The last person to leave Seattle, turn out the lights.”
We are heading down that road again.
