Firefighters, police grateful for support

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the community members of Monroe who contributed to this year’s Police and Fire Appreciation Week. We are overwhelmed by the show of appreciation from our community, which joined together for the week-long event recognizing Monroe Firefighters and Police Officers.

We would like to thank Sister Barbara and Pastor Michael Hanford for coordinating the week’s activities as well as the Friday luncheon. On behalf of our police officers and firefighters, we thank Ixtapa, Domino’s Pizza and QFC for providing our crews with delicious meals on Friday. A huge thank you also goes out to the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the Monroe Pastor’s Fellowship, Monroe Schools, Monroe Police Chaplains, and the many church congregations, businesses and citizens of Monroe for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the week.

For those of you who contributed, but are not listed here, please know that your gifts and warm wishes were very much appreciated by the men and women of our departments.

The cookies, cards and letters delivered to the fire department and police station each day, along with the messages of thanks posted by businesses, reminded us of the caring community in which we live and work. We truly value the support of our community and greatly appreciate everyone’s thoughtfulness this week. Our heartfelt thanks go out to our community for their thoughtfulness and support during Police and Fire Appreciation Week and all year long.
