In response to the recent letter to the editor by Justin Chappell who thinks fireworks equal freedom: So it’s OK to put other people’s houses and lives in danger since it’s only one day of the year? It’s OK to traumatize people with PTSD and pets since it’s only one day?
As he well knows, it’s not just one day. People start setting off fireworks a week or two weeks before and for days after the Fourth of July. There needs to be a countywide ban and even a statewide ban. Celebrate freedom by attending a controlled fireworks show.
There are also fireworks after every Saturday AquaSox game. You can celebrate freedom many times! Loud illegal fireworks have disturbed our town and county for too many years.
